Alphons Greber grew up in Switzerland and was trained as a sculptor at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. He later studied photography and film-making at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and the USC Rossier School of Fine Arts, where he earned an MFA in 1987.

 

Greber subsequently built a film school for teenagers, for the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department in Hollywood. He also worked as an artist-in-residence for the Watts Labor Community Action Committee and taught social studies at King/Drew Magnet High School for Medicine & Science.

 

He presently lives and works as a freelance artist in the Willowbrook/Compton area.
